We are Eliot United Methodist Church, EUMC, a member of the world-wide United Methodist Church. The United Methodist Church, which began as a movement and a loose network of local societies with a mission, has grown into one of the most carefully organized and largest denominations in the world. No local church is the total body of Christ. Therefore, local United Methodist churches are bound together by a common mission and common governance that accomplish reaching out into the world. United Methodist churches and organizations join in mission with each other and with other denominations. While we are a part of the greater church, we have our own unique culture and set of core values at EUMC.
EUMC strives to be a beacon of love, hope, and inspiration dedicated to welcoming all to a knowledge of Jesus as Lord and Savior in this Community and the World. We are a congregation committed to hearing God’s promises of grace, forgiveness, and mercy through scripture, inspirational worship, and service to others in the name of Jesus Christ. We worship the Triune God; and worship is centered on the life and work of Jesus Christ.
The call of God, as expressed in the very life and work of Jesus Christ upon which we have built our foundation leads us to be a welcoming and inclusive faith community. We welcome everyone, regardless of marital, social, or economic status, race, gender, sexual orientation, ethnicity, age, religious affiliation, mental, emotional and physical skills or abilities. Where ever you are on your faith journey, you are welcome to join us! We are committed to growing in our Christian faith and in our knowledge of the Bible together as we acknowledge we are all on a personal faith journey. We support each other in growing in our faith as we worship together, read and study God’s word, serve others, and grow closer to God.
