The Upper Room is a daily devotional guide, written by people from around the world, that show real people struggling to live faithfully in real-life situations, with the Bible as the touchstone for and measure of faithful living.  All in some way reflect the belief that God wills only good for each of us and that God calls us to lives of love, forgiveness, and service to others, according to the example of Christ.

At Eliot United Methodist Church, our Sunday worship service and our Sunday school classes focus on one topic each week.  The day’s topic comes from the “lectionary”–Bible readings that are prescribed for each Sunday, for churches all over the country and the world.  To read the scripture lessons for a particular Sunday, visit the Revised Common Lectionary.

Text Week provides visual & textual references for  the lectionary.

John Wesley’s Explanatory Notes explain difficult-to-understand words and phrases, providing insight into nearly every verse in the Bible.
